Lister (Technical Specialist - Doors & Hardware)

We are looking to add a full-time Lister to the team at Stiles Custom Metal. This will be an onsite position based out of our Ceres, California manufacturing facility.
What would you do as our Lister (Technical Specialist - Doors & Hardware)?
You will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of door and frame jobs. You’ll provide technical and problem-solving support to Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams by interpreting hardware templates & customer specifications and verify compatibility with our manufacturing standards.
You would also:
- Meet one-on-one with the Listing Supervisor twice weekly to review schedules, completed work, and address any listing or hardware-related questions.
- Review customer-supplied order forms and hardware schedules to determine hardware requirements.
- Input hardware details into the ICC Hardware Schedule Editor and assign openings under appropriate headings.
- Verify all hardware is in the system, ensure it is compatible with our frame and door manufacturing, and make adjustments where necessary, especially for custom products.
- Identify any hardware conflicts or missing information and coordinate directly with customers to resolve these issues quickly and accurately.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to clarify questions about job listings, hardware, or production details.
- Create and maintain accurate hardware groups, exception reports, and template data to ensure proper manufacturing processes.
- Track and report daily work completed, including job numbers, listing types (run process, hand list, quick ship), and quantities.
- Update the hardware catalog as new or revised templates are received and provide documentation for the wood-door supplier as needed.
- Maintain time efficiency by monitoring hours spent on each job and double-checking all hardware inputs for accuracy before final submission.
- Work within our document management system and use software like Approach, ICC, and Unix to manage job details.
- Notify Purchasing of any special material requirements (e.g., Stainless Steel, G90, 60” wide steel).
- Assist with training and answer questions from customers, office staff, and shop personnel as needed.
- Continually promote a safe and harmonious working environment, demonstrating strict adherence to the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct and ASSA ABLOY Health & Safety Policy.
The Skills and Experience you need:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Complete the mechanical aptitude test
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to read and interpret hardware schedules, architectural drawings, and floor plans
- Ability to stand for long periods of time with accommodations.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
