VP, Business Unit Leader, Doors
The VP, Business Unit Leader, Doors is responsible for all aspects of the Industrial Doors Business Unit operations at assembly, distribution, manufacturing, and production locations to include manufacturing, manufacturing engineering and maintenance, production and material control, supply chain management, and quality assurance and control to enhance the flexibility and to improve overall costs, quality, and on-time delivery of industrial doors.
Description of Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and execute an integrated operations strategy which delivers low cost, high quality products and delivers industry-leading flexibility, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead manufacturing operations strategic planning process, from development through to implementation, ensuring all business plans and operating and capital budgets support the Company’s goals short-term needs and longer-term goals.
- Develop highly competitive manufacturing systems to support business development objectives, focused on understanding customer requirements and implementing safe and efficient production processes.
- Through manufacturing management, directs and coordinates the efficient and economical manufacture of all Industrial Door products consistent with engineering specifications, quality objectives, and marketing forecasts.
- Through manufacturing management, maintains product quality levels consistent with engineering specifications and manufacturing cost objectives and oversee the service of equipment and the maintenance, security, and safety of the company’s buildings and grounds.
- Through purchasing management, directs the procedures and policies for purchasing materials, equipment, supplies, and services to ship products in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Coordinate and directs major projects such as expansion of facilities, acquisitions and installation of capital equipment, major repairs and overhauls, plant layout changes, etc. to the best economic advantage. Review and approve capital and expense expenditures.
- Promote and drive innovative ideas, solutions, and business processes through leadership and decisive action to push an ambitious yet attainable strategy for growth of Industrial Door products and brands.
- Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline business unit processes and use of resources and materials.
- Establish performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones to achieve and improve company gross margin, on time delivery, customer satisfaction, quality, cycle time reduction, inventory control and reduction, etc.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing on the sales and operations planning process for the Industrial Doors Business Unit to clearly understand projected mid- and long-term supply and demand and in making decisions related to seeking new business or capacity additions with the end objective being to achieve the optimal capacity utilization levels to maximize 4Front profitability.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing to ensure cohesive market strategies and work with dealer and door partners to enhance brand awareness and market performance.
- Partner with key stakeholders in Finance, HR, IT, and Sales and Marketing to ensure superior performance and revenue growth.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or related Technical discipline. MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing operations and/or supply chain environment with several years in a senior management role having significant business and operational impact. Industrial Doors experience a plus.
- Proven track record of streamlining or improving company operations and delivering results.
- Demonstrated success in leading a $100M+ product/business unit operation, with full P&L experience highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in growing Revenue & EBIT.
- Prior experience leading multiple teams with multi-location/site responsibility preferred.
