 Education and Experience:

• Associate in Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or related area of focus from an accredited college; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• 5-7 years of practical experience in mechanical design within a fabrication, manufacturing, assembly, or industrial work environment developing both machined and sheet metal parts.
• 2+ years of AutoCAD design/drafting experience.
• Experience in designing and developing mechanical systems and components.
• Machine design and Solid CAD modeling experience a must.
• Experience in product design, GD&T, and using CAD tools.
• Experience in working with both machined and sheet metal parts.

Computer Skills

• Ability to use a personal computer utilizing spreadsheet and word processing software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
• Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Smartsheet, and PowerPoint preferred.

• Proficient in creating drawings to use in the manufacture of parts and assemblies.
• Proficiency in mechanical design using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor).
• 3D solid modeling and 2D CAD drawing skills.
• General understanding of and experience with business ERP systems and software.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, plant/equipment layout drawings, and governmental regulations.
• Communicate design ideas using a variety of communication methods.  Ability to communicate with various levels in the organization from fabrication/manufacturing, assembly, engineering, and sales.
• General understanding and working knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, sewing, and welding equipment and tooling including design, gauges, equipment design, automation, robotics, or manufacturing processes.
• Working knowledge of material types specifications and characteristics used in dock levelers, dock seals & shelters, impactable dock doors, high speed and high-performance doors, and other entrance automation products and warehouse solutions.

Other Qualifications, Experience, or Requirements:

• Requires a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle while carefully observing all traffic rules and regulations.
• Requires the ability to use a variety of office/production related equipment such as a telephone, photocopier, and precision measuring instruments.

• Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as workload or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays.
