What would you do as our Plant Controller?
Reporting to the Vice Preseident of Finance with a dotted line to the General Manager, you’ll serve as the site’s senior financial leader and key business partner. You’ll take a hands-on role in driving financial performance, leading the accounting function, and guiding strategic decision-making on everything from forecasting to cost reduction initiatives.
You would also:
- Collaborate with plant and business leadership to drive results, provide financial insight, and improve operational performance.
- Lead the month-end close process—including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and the development of operating metrics.
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, and reimbursement functions with precision.
- Support compliance with federal contractor requirements and other regulatory standards.
- Analyze performance across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow to provide actionable insight.
- Conduct financial analysis for capital investments, pricing strategy, and cost/productivity optimization.
- Implement and refine internal controls to ensure accuracy, accountability, and audit-readiness.
- Leverage business intelligence tools and ERP systems to identify trends and guide decisions.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and continuously improve financial systems and workflows.
- Additional responsibilities/project as required.
- Maintain a safe and harmonious working environment holding self and others accountable to ASSA ABLOY standards.
- Assure compliance with federal, provincial, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
The Skills and Experience you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing
- Strong team player who can effectively interact with and motivate other team members, including peers
- Knowledge of IFRS and financial statement presentation
- Proficiency in data analysis tools; Business Objects, JobScope, JD Edwards, and Hyperion are a plus
- Familiarity with federal contractor compliance is a strong plus
- High proficiency in Excel, including PivotTables, advanced formulas, and macros
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset
