Estimating Coordinator

Our Pioneer Industries brand is adding an Estimating Coordinator to our manufacturing facility located in Carlstadt, New Jersey.

What would you do as our Estimating Coordinator?

You will be responsible for the development and communication of estimating/quoting activities for Hollow Metal frames and doors.

 

 

You would also:

 

    • Interpret customer take-off information in multiple formats.
    • Prepare, complete, and accurately estimate using both computer software and pricing manuals.
    • Consult with Engineering on special product information, code compliance and labeling capabilities.
    • Serve as a contact with the distributor on a given estimate.
    • Develop and maintain proficiency of in-house estimating software
    • Determine the most cost-effective way to estimate a project, including alternatives in material, freight, and pricing methods, being mindful of specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
    • Research estimate and invoice discrepancies as requested by distributors.
    • Maintain Company quote log, quote repository and review discounts with Management.
    • Coordinate and communicate bids with sales territory pricing administrators.  
    • Manage and maintain databases.
    • Coordinate Specialty RFQ’s with Specialty Division.
    • Train customers in the use of quoting tools. if necessary.
    • Establish metrics for measuring close rates.
    • Coordinate RFQ’s Company-wide; Review and verify project discounting and net pricing.
    • Assist with product substitutions when necessary.
    • Work collaboratively with team members on all quote related issues.
    • Ensure all pricing requests are completed within required lead times.
    • Participate in monthly calls with sales agents to ensure product quotes are current and valid.
    • Continually ensure improvement of the quoting process.
    • Good organizational, planning, follow-up and a high comfort level balancing multiple priorities or projects simultaneously.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations of law, Pioneer programs, policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

 

 

The Skills and Experience you need:

 

  • High School diploma or GED required.  Post High School education preferred or the equivalent of 5 years’ experience in Estimating, required.
  • 5 years’ experience in the Door & Hardware Industry preferred.
  • Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent math and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing is required.
  • Exposure to building codes and labeling requirements is a plus.
  • General understanding of the construction industry is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Outlook, MS Excel and MS Access.
