Estimating Coordinator

Our Pioneer Industries brand is adding an Estimating Coordinator to our team. This role will be onsite and based out of our manufacturing facility located in Carlstadt, New Jersey.

What would you do as our Estimating Coordinator?

In this role, you’ll be the key link between our company and customers—ensuring accurate, timely, and competitive pricing for both standard and custom product inquiries.

 

 

You would also:

 

    • Develop and communicate estimates and quotes for hollow metal frames and doors.
    • Determine the most cost-effective way to estimate a project, including alternatives in material, freight, and pricing methods, being mindful of specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
    • Prepare and complete estimates accurately from customer take-offs in multiple formats.
    • Record all outgoing estimates as well as estimates that turn into purchase orders.
    • Enter all project quotes within our in-house quoting tool.
    • Maintain Company quote log, quote repository and review discounts with Management.
    • Manage and maintain databases.
    • Coordinate Specialty RFQ’s with Specialty Division.
    • Coordinate RFQ’s Company-wide; Review and verify project discounting and net pricing.
    • Research estimate and invoice discrepancies as requested by distributors.
    • Ensure all pricing requests are completed within required lead times.
    • Develop and maintain proficiency of in-house estimating software.
    • Continually ensure improvement of the quoting process.
    • Serve as a contact with the distributor on a given estimate.
    • Coordinate and communicate bids with sales territory pricing administrators. 
    • Train customers in the use of quoting tools. if necessary.
    • Work collaboratively with team members on all quote related issues.
    • Work closely with Order Processing on special product information, code compliance and labeling capabilities.
    • Participate in monthly calls with sales agents to ensure product quotes are current and valid.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations of law, Pioneer programs, policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

 

 

The Skills and Experience you need:

 

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Estimating required.
  • Experience in steel doors, frames, hardware or related industries highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with configured product environments is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Outlook, MS Excel and MS Access.
  • Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent math and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing is required.
  • Exposure to building codes and labeling requirements is a plus.
  • General understanding of the construction industry is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Outlook, MS Excel and MS Access.
