As Senior Engineer, you will be providing, with a team of Biometric QA Engineers, the Test Infrastructure, Test Planning and Testing for Biometric Solutions in the HID PACS Business Area.
The qualified candidate will support test plan development by gathering and documenting test requirements, develop and execute test cases, develop and iterate test procedures, identify testing risks and create mitigation strategies.
You will work within the quality assurance team for PACS Core products.

As our Senior Engineer ( Biometrics QA), you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Familiar with a wide range of testing techniques.
- Able to identify and liaise with external test facilities to cover test gaps
- Able to communicate test results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Able to collaborate to achieve a team result
- Contributes to project and product planning discussions
- Understands how the product under test operates as part of a wider system
- Plans and scopes interoperability test requirements
- Able to make improvement suggestions regarding the Test Environment
- Able to raise defects with the business and help prioritize them based on severity
- Able to deliver technical reports
- Actively contributes to customer escalations
- Has knowledge of TDD methodology and leads stakeholders in its implementation
- Good understand of System/Solution testing, interoperability and longer-term stress/reliability testing
- Implements E-2-E and Ux testing of the System/Solution.
What we will love about your background:
- Possesses and applies knowledge principles, practices, and procedures over a wide range of fields including but not limited to Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Validation, and PACS Systems including Biometric solutions and AWS.
- Prior experience of carrying out device testing, software testing, or other related testing experience
- Familiarity with software installation and configuration in Windows and Linux environments
- Ability to install and configure basic computer system hardware components and establish connections to local area networks and back-end processing systems
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications and diagramming flow charts to document test processes and design.
- Communicates well and capable of delivering feedback to peers and their manager.
- When given a task with unclear requirements demonstrates that all assumptions are vetted before work starts to reduce the need for re-work.
- Understand how their work fits into the larger picture for their team and use this to identify conflicting requirements to their tech lead and product manager.
- Seeks out context needed to understand the why of a particular feature and demonstrates empathy via that understanding.
Your Experience and Education include:
- Engineering degree or equivalent or suitable experience.
- Minimum of +4 years of related industry experience.
- Experience with SQL DB queries to validate software recording proper data and ensure participant data ingested properly prior to testing
- Experience in scripting.
- Experience with tracking software development using Jira or other similar programs
- Experience of Agile and Lean Methodologies.
