The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market presence across European territories.

This role focuses on securing new business opportunities within verticals that utilize secure issuance ID card printers, including Government, Health, Education, Corporate, Security Integration, Installers, Entertainment, and Retail.

 

The position requires an initiative-taking approach in building relationships, identifying new business channels, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure business success.

As our Business Development Manager, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

Sales & Business Development:

  • Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives to expand market share across targeted verticals.
  • Identify and engage with key decision-makers in Security hardware integrators and manufacturers, government agencies, educational institutions, healthcare organizations, corporations, and retail sectors.
  • Drive lead generation through outbound calls, email campaigns, trade shows, and direct sales efforts.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, tracking progress and ensuring timely follow-ups. Working directly with regional sales manager across Europe
  • Support the sales team in identifying tenders and project opportunities.
  • Manage and qualify leads from various sources, assigning them to appropriate sales managers or partners.
  • Identify upselling opportunities for added technology, products, and services.

Channel & Partner Engagement:

  • Establish and strengthen relationships with resellers, system integrators, and distribution partners across Europe. Working in partnership with regional sales manager.
  • Collaborate with channel partners to drive demand generation and increase sales.
  • Train and support partners in selling HID Secure Issuance solutions effectively.
  • Serve as a point of contact for European channel partners, ensuring smooth communication and sales alignment.

Product Expertise & Training:

  • Become a subject matter expert on HID Secure Issuance products and solutions.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of HID’s secure issuance portfolio and educate partners and customers on solution benefits
  • Specialise in pre sales and demonstrations for HID Fargo Connect. Working and supporting Regional sales managers in creating a pipeline for this product
  • Conduct product demonstrations and webinars for lead qualification and relationship building.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new product releases, and competitive positioning.

Reporting & CRM Management:

  • Utilize Salesforce (SFDC) to track and manage opportunities, ensuring data accuracy and regular updates.
  • Generate monthly KPI reports for Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) across sub-regions.
  • Maintain and update a detailed mapping of T2 resellers & integrators by geography.
  • Monitor order status, track backlog orders, and proactively address potential bottlenecks.
  • Support sales teams with SQ creation and management, NCOF order processing, and stock monitoring.

Collaboration & Internal Coordination:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including Operations, Customer Service, and Logistics, to enhance customer experience.
  • Provide feedback on market needs and competitive landscape to inform product development.
  • Function as an ambassador for Salesforce, ensuring best practices, training, and system improvements.

 

Your Experience and Background include:  

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in sales, business development, or customer service, preferably in security, IT, or access control.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while being a collaborative team player.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • German, French, Spanish, Italian, or Polish as a second language is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Experience with Salesforce (SFDC), Oracle, and Oracle Analytics is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, specifications, and international standards.
