Senior Manager, Digital Experience Strategy

We are seeking to hire Senior Manager of Digital Strategy Experience who serves as a strategic connector responsible for advancing the digital landscape across various product lines across the Commercial Segment. The individual in this position will play a critical role in evaluating and vetting high-level digital initiatives before they reach the development stage, ensuring that projects are clearly defined in terms of purpose, scope, and business value. They will be responsible for building strong business cases for new initiatives and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. With a solid understanding of technology and prior experience working alongside development teams, this person will be able to navigate the intricacies of the development process and advocate effectively for appropriate timelines, resources, and expectations. Acting as a key liaison, they will represent the development team across the organization, building cross-functional relationships, improving communication and processes, and fostering alignment. Ultimately, this individual will serve as the “face” of the development function, driving collaboration and ensuring that digital efforts are both strategic and impactful.

 

This position is based on-site in Berlin or New Haven, Connecticut requiring occasional domestic travel.

 

What will you be doing

  • Digital Roadmap: Define and socialize DX strategies across websites, eCommerce web shops, and digital tools; develop roadmap w/spring cycles and manage accountability from all resources 
  • Design Leadership: Set UX/UI principles and design standards; ensure accessibility and usability; partner with Brand/Marketing to maintain a consistent, differentiated experience across brands and product lines. 
  • Platform Architecture: Own the overall digital ecosystem design and operating model across CMS (e.g., AEM), commerce capabilities, analytics/tagging, and integrations with ERP and other enterprise services. 
  • Content Governance: Establish governance for product data, digital assets, and content lifecycle (taxonomy, metadata, approvals, localization); ensure quality, timeliness, and reusability across channels. 
  • SEO/GEO performance: Drive technical SEO and content discoverability (including generative search optimization where relevant); oversee performance, speed, and Core Web Vitals; reduce friction in key journeys. 
  • Data Analytics: Define KPI framework, dashboards, and experimentation approach (A/B testing, personalization where appropriate); use insights to prioritize improvements and quantify impact. 
  • Cross-functional delivery: Partner with Marketing, IT, Sales, Product, Legal/Compliance, and regional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions; manage tradeoffs, scope, and timelines. 
  • Budgeting: Select and manage agencies/partners; set SLAs and delivery standards; manage budgets, forecasting, and value realization. 
  • Data Privacy: Ensure adherence to data privacy, consent management, cybersecurity standards, and brand/legal requirements; define governance for releases and change control. 
  • Lead, coach, and develop an internal team and extended matrix; define roles, capabilities, and ways of working to scale delivery. 

 

 

What are we looking for

  • Must have 8–12+ years in digital experience, digital strategy, web, or eCommerce roles.
  • Must have 5+ years in leading cross‑functional teams and agency partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to define experience standards, govern content and product data, and improve end‑to‑end customer journeys.
  • Strong experience leading UI/UX initiatives.
  • User Experience leadership with working knowledge of infrastructure, cloud platforms, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices.
  • Oversee vendor selections and evaluations. This includes total cost of ownership, implementation complexity, and ecosystem fit.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders, align competing priorities, and build high‑performing teams within a matrixed organization.
  • Proven use of analytics, experimentation, and key performance indicator frameworks to improve acquisition, conversion, and engagement.
  • Working knowledge of privacy and consent requirements, accessibility expectations, and secure‑by‑design practices for digital platforms.

 

Platform expertise:

  • Content Management System landscape: Experience with enterprise platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, Optimizely, Drupal, and headless or composable alternatives.
  • Headless and hybrid Content Management System patterns: Decoupled front ends, content application programming interfaces, and omnichannel delivery.
  • Content Management System vendor evaluation and selection: Total cost of ownership, implementation complexity, and ecosystem fit.
  • Adobe Experience Manager familiarity
  • Adobe Experience Manager Cloud Service awareness: Cloud migration considerations.
