Product Development Engineer

Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, you will spearhead product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and develop new products. As a key player on our team, you’ll develop cutting-edge mechanical and electromechanical systems solving complex problems. You will also be expected to maintain and manage documentation, ensuring it reflects the latest changes and developments. This position will sit onsite full-time in Berlin, CT.
What you will be doing:
- Lead Quality, Sustaining & Value Analysis/Value Engineering Projects Utilizing Product Introduction\Release Processes
- Report Project Status Orally/Through Presentation
- Maintain & Cost Reduce Existing Electro-Mechanical Product Designs for Security based Products Utilizing Established Processes: Design for Lean Sigma, Toll Gate, Value Analysis/Value Evaluation & Root Cause Analysis
- Test & Analyze Defective Product to Root-Cause and Establish Corrective and Preventive Design Solutions with Product Development Engineering
- Work with Electro-Mechanical Designs (Analog & Digital Circuitry, Embedded Firmware, etc)
- Ensure Designs Meet Product Requirements & Specifications
- Manage Validation Test Plans by Working with Test Engineering
- Document Projects Utilizing Visio, MS Project, SharePoint & LEAN NPD Tools
- Facilitate and Support Regulatory Testing Requirements and Acceptance Criteria
- Document Product Designs by Working with EM Designers
- Compile Quality Reports to Track Failure Trends
What we are looking for:
- Bachelors of Science Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including MS Project and Altium (or equivalent) a Plus
- Ability to Work Effectively in a Cross-Functional Team in a Fast-Paced Environment
- Ability to Work on Multiple Projects Concurrently
- Knowledge with SolidWorks
- Creative mind and willingness to think outside the box
