IT Intern
Position Summary: The IT Summer Intern’s role is to support and maintain corporate computer systems (desktop, laptop and peripherals) attached to ASSA ABLOY Berlin’s infrastructure. This includes installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading end user hardware. This person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user assistance where required. This person will gain valuable experience working in an Information Technology Department and will take part in departmental meetings and troubleshooting conversations.
Essential Functions:
- Install, configure, test, maintain, inventory, monitor and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware and networked peripheral devices.
- Assist in Daily/Weekly Server and LAN Issues
- Work with end users to identify and deliver required PC service levels.
- Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation and removal.
- Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating system workstations
- Experience with hardware components in a PC environment.
- Working knowledge of network environments (printing, drive mapping, etc…)
- Ability to diagnose PC problems and formulate working solutions.
- Possess effective time management skills with regard to handling multiple priorities.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Ability to provide service to customers in a professional and supportive manner.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand and sit for period of time.
- Ability to remain seated for long periods of time while working on a computer or documentation, etc.
- Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
- Must be capable of withstanding long periods of viewing data on a computer screen and/or in paper format.
- Ability to interact with a diversity of people and diverse levels of personnel.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
