HR Coordinator

This position will be situated on-site, full time in Berlin, CT and will report to the HR Manager.
What you will be doing
- Support employee engagement activities, payroll attachments, certificates, coupons, display tv monitors and update the slides.
- Check the call out line every morning and send out email to all supervisors and PCMs.
- Provide support to General Manager, Operations Management and Supply Chain teams organizing and updating data or special projects as needed.
- Manage employee benefits portal, address pending action items.
- Handle salary and non-salary recruiting activities including internal job postings, interview scheduling, managing, and reviewing applications.
- Post union job postings on board and send out bid results. Maintain union job reconciliation spreadsheet.
- Initiate background, physicals, and drug screen requests on "Accurate" website.
- Handle new hire onboarding processes such as compiling and maintaining paper documents and electronic records, creating badges, completing forms, benefit enrollment, scheduling and coordinating logistics for new hire orientations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date files, records, and documentation of existing employees while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
- Manage temporary employees workforce including badges, reporting injuries, send hours worked report to respective agencies, and assess temp staffing needs with PC Managers (Union approved, summer temps, inventory temps, medical temps). Ensure adherence to union rules pertaining to temporary workforce.
- Assist with planning and execution of special companywide events (annual and on-going) including meeting room and vendor bookings, onsite clinics, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and other celebrations.
- Provide benefits related support such as new hire enrollments, open enrollment testing, managing inquiries from employees on benefits status, retiree benefit enrollment and termination, ensuring employee tasks in the benefit system are completed, adding members, coverage etc.
- Manage Health and Safety data including injury updates, tracking and other employee medical records.
- Manage FMLA Tracking Manager, process requests, review claims and issue an approval or denial. Pull monthly reports for departments.
- Address Payroll inquiries from employees (e.g., Print paystubs, rate clarification, OT, W2s, etc.)
- Print, activate, deactivate employee badges, maintain badging printing system, order badge printer supplies when needed.
- Receive and process companywide business cards request in a timely manner.
- Manage Fastenal access using the Fastenal website.
- Knowledge of payroll processing procedures and other time sensitive Senior HR Generalists tasks in the event of her absence.
What we are looking for
- BS Degree with 2+ years of Human Resources experience.
- Utmost attention to detail and confidentiality.
- High degree of accuracy.
- Exceptional people skills and be able to interact with employees at all levels, as well as vendors and suppliers.
- Very detail focused and ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently.
- Self-starter and results oriented
- Strong computer literacy, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be flexible, service-oriented and have a strong sense of urgency.
- Manufacturing experience desired.
- Union/Collective Bargaining experience is a plus.
