Your Role in Keeping the Future in Safe Hands…
As the Commissioning and Installation Engineer for the Global solutions division of ASSA ABLOY, you will have the opportunity to install, tests, and validates new equipment or systems on-site, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently according to specifications.
Reporting to Project Resource Manager, you will be responsible for installation, commissioning/testing, troubleshooting, documenting, client liaising and safety compliance.
Main Duties of the Installation & Commissioning Engineer
- Project familiarisation; project folder, key contacts on site, installation schedule
- Travel & accommodation logistics
- Pre-start meetings with clients, to review and agree the installation schedule and any other items
- Equipment stocktakes, and frequent safety checks
- Training overview with site staff
- Installation and commissioning of locks, Remote Controllers, Elevator Controllers (commissioning only) and any other equipment required to successfully complete the installation on time.
- Identify additional labour resource which may be required
- Management of any additional resources needed to complete the project on time.
- Reporting daily and at end of installation direct to Project Resource Manager, and Project Manager
- Working in a clean and efficient manner at all times.
- Packaging any items to be returned to Head Office and labelling ready for collection.
- Handing over items for disposal to site
- Liaise with site personnel on scheduling, queries & progress of project
- User definable system - set up parameters
- Carry out any changes required on site and test.
- Liaison with any other sub-contractors e.g. Elevator, Car Park barriers, Entrance doors
- Be aware of and comply with
- Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS)
- Health & Safety
- Operating Manuals
- Attend site meetings where necessary for smooth running of project
- Troubleshooting
- Hand over to and sign-off by client for each project
- Weekly management of engineers’ car stock and handling returns.
- Administration
- Timesheets submitted every Friday
- Expenses submitted every Friday
- Signed acceptance certificates every week.
- Door surveys for any additional equipment that may be required
- Submit sufficient details to enable quoting and ordering
What we expect of you…
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with project coordination and administrative processes.
- Knowledge of system licensing and hotel access technologies (preferred).
- Proficiency in Smartsheets and related tools.
- Ability to travel around the UK and ROI as necessary
