We are seeking a highly experienced Senior French Payroll Specialist for a 12-month project management role based on-site in Angers, France.

This position will lead the transition of our French payroll operations from an outsourced provider to a fully in-house model.

 

The successful candidate will oversee the implementation process, ensuring compliance with French payroll legislation, while managing complex payroll activities and system integrations. This is a strategic, hands-on role requiring close collaboration with the International Payroll Manager and the EMEA Payroll Shared Services team.

As our Senior Payroll Specialist you’ll support HID’s success by:

  • Lead the full project lifecycle for transitioning payroll operations for two French entities from an outsourced provider to an in-house model.
  • Manage system implementation, data migration, and integration in collaboration with IT, HR, and external vendors.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with French legislation throughout the transition.
  • Act as the French payroll subject matter expert, advising on local requirements and best practices.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to validate payroll inputs and establish strong operational controls.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to support a smooth and efficient transition.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive payroll documentation, procedures, and training materials
  • Oversee statutory filings, DSN declarations, insurance, sick leave administration, and maintain strong relationships with social organizations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency, and enhanced service delivery.

  • Fluent in French and English, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, change-driven environment. 
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Silae, Kelio, ADP) and Microsoft 365/Excel.

 

Your Experience and Education include: 

  • Proven experience managing payroll implementation or transition projects, ideally within a French context.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, HR, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ hands-on experience in French payroll is essential.
  • Strong expertise in payroll operations and personnel administration within France.
  • Experience in payroll system implementation or transition projects.
