The Pre-Sales Consultant  supports the sales team and the bid team by establishing the overall vision of the technical solution to be proposed for the complex ID opportunity in question, bringing in the technical expertise from around the company. 

Externally, as required, you will ensure that a feasible and well-thought-through solution is designed that meets the agreed customer requirements and address the problems the customer is aiming to solve.

This role will report directly to the regional director of bids and you will join an established team during a strong growth period.

As our Pre Sales Consultant, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

 

  • Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assesses customers’ needs and recommends solutions that optimise value for both the customer and the company.
  • Secures input from all necessary solution stakeholders within the customer and HID organisation.
  • Coordinates closely with internal sales, commercial, bid teams and service resources to align solution design with customers’ business requirements.
  • Secures from customer technical staff commitments needed to ensure a deal’s “technical close.”
  • Provides coaching and professional development to colleagues to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills.
  • Monitors technical solutions proposed throughout the sales process and alerts the sales and account teams to potential risks of deal closure.
  • Lead the solution design process and documentation of proposed solutions and assist the bid management team with writing of proposals and bids from a technical perspective.
  • Bridge between pre-sales bid team and post-sales delivery team and liaise with assigned program managers.
  • Gain and retain technical subject matter expertise in identity management markets and technologies, including key industry players.
  • Attend key trade events and conferences as required
  • Remaining involved in the opportunity from identification through to contract award and hand over to delivery
  • Evaluate the technical requirements of new opportunities and helping to qualify in or out based on agreed criteria, including evaluation of the fit of the requirement with a standard solution
  • Scope the technical solution that best suits HID capabilities, optimises ongoing revenue, and meets Customer needs
  • Drafting technical descriptions where these do not exist or need updating
  • Identify gaps in HID’s technical and commercial capabilities
  • Identify suitable partners / solutions to fill gaps in current/roadmap capabilities to enable offerings on qualified opportunities
  • Supporting the development of winning sales strategies and identifying new opportunities

Your Qualifications and Experience include: 

 

  • University graduate in technical subject or equivalent
  • Detailed and in-depth understanding of government programmes and functions
  • Experience in working in complex multi-party bid consortia for high-value programs
  • Strong market knowledge
  • Experience understanding Market / Client requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of technical solutions and competitive landscapes
  • Experience in compiling complex technical architecture diagrams and proposals
