Team Leader/Manager, Accounts Receivable

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader/Manager, Accounts Receivable to lead our AR function and drive strong cash flow performance through effective collections, credit management, and process improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring close collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues, reduce overdue debt, and support business performance.

The position is based in Bangholme, Victoria.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Accounts Receivable team to achieve collections and service targets.
  • Oversee day-to-day Accounts Receivable activities including collections, payment allocations, reconciliations, and invoicing.
  • Monitor aged debtors and drive collection strategies to reduce overdue debt and improve cash flow.
  • Support the resolution of complex customer disputes, payment issues, and credit-related matters.
  • Review and approve credit notes, account adjustments, payment arrangements, and write-offs within authority limits.
  • Prepare and analyse Accounts Receivable reporting, including debtor days, collections performance, and cash flow metrics.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance teams to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Manage customer credit risk and escalate significant collection or account concerns as required.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and audit requirements.
  • Support month-end reporting, cash forecasting, and business transformation initiatives.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years' experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or a similar finance role.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing or supervising Accounts Receivable or finance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of collections, credit management, cash flow, and Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Experience working in a high-volume corporate, shared services, or multi-entity environment.
  • Proven ability to improve processes, drive efficiencies, and lead change initiatives.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as TSM, IFS, MYOB, Simpro, Xero, Exact, or similar.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and strong reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach with the ability to influence outcomes and build strong working relationships.
  • Experience with offshore teams, audit requirements, or business transformation projects will be highly regarded.
