Are you a hands-on finance professional with a passion for governance, process improvement, and team leadership? We’re seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team and contribute to our growing organisation during an exciting period of change and transformation.
About the Role
As the 2IC to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in strengthening financial governance and internal controls, supporting process improvements, and mentoring the finance team. You will also engage with stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Standardise and strengthen financial governance and internal controls across all Pacific entities
• Lead Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions, mentoring and developing finance team members both locally and offshore
• Ensure compliance with group policies and regulatory requirements, including direct and indirect taxes, for Australian and New Zealand legal entities
• Deliver accurate and timely monthly reporting and develop new reporting tools to support the business structure and strategy
• Drive finance process improvement and LEAN initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Priority projects includes improvement in wages payroll process and systems.
• Support integration and standardisation of processes, systems, and legal entities, including preparation for a new ERP implementation
• Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, and enhance business reporting
What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Commerce
• CA or CPA qualification
• 10+ years of experience, including prior roles as Finance Manager or Financial Controller
• Excellent ERP and system skills, with the ability to interrogate and analyse transactional data
• Advanced Excel skills
• Industry experience in projects and/or service businesses highly desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience mentoring teams and engaging stakeholders
