AI Expert (m/f/d)

SKIDATA is a global leader in access solutions for mobility, parking, mountain destinations, airports, shopping centres, stadiums, and attractions, combining long-term reliability with cutting-edge innovation through the hybrid integration of hardware and software across IoT, cloud, and mobility technologies. As part of our ongoing digital transformation, we are investing boldly in AI-driven engineering and intelligent automation, and we’re now looking for a passionate, hands-on Software Expert – Lead AI Developer in Bangalore, India, to lead the practical adoption of AI across our software development lifecycle and help shape how we build the next generation of intelligent access systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Practical AI Adoption: Bring AI to life across the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements, architecture, and coding to code review, testing, debugging, documentation, refactoring, and maintenance.
  • Partner with Development Teams: Work side by side with engineers and architects to uncover real day-to-day engineering challenges and co-create pilot AI-enabled solutions that make a tangible difference.
  • Lead by Example: Use AI extensively in your own daily engineering work and demonstrate measurable improvements in productivity and quality.
  • Mentor and Inspire: Act as an AI technical leader and mentor for software engineering teams across locations, through hands-on workshops, coaching sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Turn Experiments into Standards: Establish practical guidelines and repeatable workflows for responsible AI-assisted development, and integrate them into existing processes together with architects, technical managers, and engineering leaders.
  • Explore What’s Next: Evaluate emerging AI development tools, models, frameworks, and agentic approaches, including locally hosted and open-source LLMs, with a clear view of their cost, performance, and operational trade-offs.
  • Champion an AI-First Mindset: Help teams embrace AI-first engineering while safeguarding quality, security, and maintainability, and bring relevant external developments into the organization where they create real value.

In this role, you’ll become the go-to technical point of contact for AI-assisted software development and play a key part in building a sustainable, AI-enabled engineering culture. Within your first 6–12 months, you’ll see the impact of your work in stronger internal AI capabilities, high-value use cases brought to life, and measurable gains in developer productivity, software quality, and delivery efficiency. Here, your ideas are valued, your curiosity is encouraged, and you’ll have the exciting opportunity to shape the way our engineers work for years to come.

  • Practical experience with AI-powered development tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent
  • Real projects where AI measurably improved development speed, quality, automation, or engineering outcomes
  • Proven ability to mentor senior and junior engineers and influence teams without formal authority
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical communication skills
  • A pragmatic, hands-on mindset that balances innovation with quality, security, maintainability, and business value
  • Strong curiosity, a passion for experimentation, and a drive to keep learning emerging AI technologies
  • Experience with LLM ecosystems (e.g., Anthropic/Claude, OpenAI), prompt and context engineering, AI agent workflows, LLM integration, locally hosted or open-source LLMs, AI coding standards and governance, or leading AI transformation within an engineering organization is a plus
