Summary
To support continued growth, scalability, and enhanced competitiveness, HID Global is undertaking a fundamental transformation of its APAC Fulfilment Strategy. This transition currently underway in Malaysia.
The Senior Manager, Fulfilment Operations plays a pivotal leadership role in driving the success of HID Global’ s Malaysia Fulfilment Operations. This highly collaborative position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fulfilment across operational areas, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivering operational excellence. The role also serves as the key decision-maker, with full accountability for end-to-end fulfilment activities from production and shipping to inventory and logistics.
The position will lead the Malaysia Fulfilment team, overseeing core functions such as Warehouse, Shipping, and Production. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional departments including Quality, Procurement, Trade Compliance, Engineering, and Production Control.
Performance and continuous improvement will be driven through a structured cadence of reviews, anchored in six key pillars: People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Order Fulfilment, and Cost.
As our SENIOR MANAGER, OPERATIONS, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Accountable for overall fulfilment performance, including safety, order fulfilment, shipping, production, and warehouse operations.
- Oversee cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders that impact operations, such as Trade Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Dangerous Goods handling, Customer Service, Quality, Hardware/Software Systems and Facilities Management.
- Ensure operational alignment with strategic goals while maintaining compliance, efficiency, and service excellence across all fulfilment activities.
- Oversee the complete order-to-ship cycle, encompassing production, shipping, and inventory management across all business segments. This includes ensuring timely and accurate fulfilment, optimizing operational workflows, and maintaining inventory integrity to support customer satisfaction and business performance.
- Serve as the key decision-maker of Malaysia fulfilment activities, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the interconnected systems that drive fulfilment performance.
- Plan, direct and implement warehouse operations and administrative support needed to meet prescribed company objectives relevant to delivery, quality, productivity, customer, market requirements and operational capabilities expansion.
- Ensure the development of systems and procedures that provide solutions to operate and manage physical facilities, human resources, equipment, and products in a cost-effective manner.
- Remain knowledgeable and act as subject matter expert regarding changes in hardware and software technology to continuously improve and evolve the operation.
- Develop suitable programs for maintaining company standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, quality and safety of equipment and facilities in a manner that assures their most efficient operation.
- Develop and ensure process adherence to the handling and shipment of products that require Government clearance.
- Develop and implement an inventory control strategy including cycle count metrics, planning and coordination of physical inventory and other finance requirements.
- Adaptable and able to work efficiently under pressure and highly comfortable working with ambiguous and dynamic situations.
- Support New Product Introduction processes and other various Global Operations Initiatives such as ATP / Lead Time Management.
- Support and participate in Quality Review forums. Emphasize importance of robust and timely action plans focused on containment, root cause and corrective / preventive actions.
- Participate in and present matrix performance in weekly Fulfilment Operations review and Monthly performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance to Inventory and Financial Control policies and procedures including cycle counts, physical inventory audit, labor & WIP variance and open work order reports.
- Advocate and foster a culture which complies with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System; the proactive assessment and management of risk. Role will be required to support Management Reviews and Internal / External Audits.
Your Experience and Background include:
- 8+ years of Supply Chain Management or Operations Management Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering (Industrial or Manufacturing preferred).
- Candidates should have varying levels of experience with:
- Materials Resource Planning and Capacity Resource Planning
- Lean Principles: 5S, Value Stream Mapping,
- Production Scheduling, Capacity Modeling, Job Sequencing
- Supply Chain Management
- Warehouse and Inventory Management, Inventory Control and
- material handling
- Shipment execution in compliance with local Malaysia custom
- requirements, like K1, K2, K9 application
- Must possess an innate sense of collaboration and interpersonal abilities.
- Possesses the ability to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute to the effectiveness of the organization.
- Comfortable and effective communicating complex problems to groups large or small, comprised of subordinates, peers and / or Senior Leadership alike.
- Drives for results through timely decision making and the ability to prioritize, plan and measure work.
- Resolves conflicts and disputes by addressing multiple viewpoints to develop a mutually satisfying outcome.
- Operates with an adaptive and flexible approach to drive results in a pragmatic manner.
- Ability to perform daily tasks without constant Management / Supervisory oversight.
- Project Management, ISO Certification and / or experience is preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing and / or Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
- Knowledge of Order to Delivery functionality within Oracle ERP (or similar) is required.
- Familiar with Agile PLM system is preferred.
