QA Engineer II

 

Summary

Ensure product and service provides a high level of quality that meets customer expectation. The Engineer will put in place a system to measure an organization’s performance and then report on its findings, liaising with Manager and Staff, and coordinating procedures to address any deficiencies. In  addition they formulate or help formulate quality procedures as well as conducting training on quality concepts and tools, interface with all other engineering and manufacturing department within the company, customers & supplier on quality related issues.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for all quality related matters to the assigned product family.
  • Drive implementation for all defined quality indicators to meet the defined requirements.
  • Daily management of incoming, in-process, and out-going inspection activities and secure corrective action taken for non-conformances detected.
  • Provide technical assistance in certifying operators and ensuring high competency level is maintained by the Quality Inspectors.
  • Monitor and review line and yields performances are well managed within the requirements.
  • Maintains the analysis reports and ensure proper storage.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure product and process are compliances with requirements.
  • To update and maintain a proper calibration system for measuring instrument.
  • Conduct investigation with cross-functional team for non-conformance incidents or customer complaints.
  • To facilitate NCR handling using proper Quality tools i.e 8D analysis, 7-QC Tools, Fishbone analysis etc.
  • To manage and update quality implementation status on any non-conformances raised by customer into TTP.
  • To create DAS profile for new product prior to mass production
  • Ensure all activities within QA area of control is conducted in a manner that complies with environmental control procedures and does not create unnecessary environmental impacts.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance to environmental operational controls and compliance with applicable legal and other requirements.
  • To report to QA Manager on all quality issues.
  • Any other task assigned by immediate superior

 

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of production/manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Sound mathematical and technical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills
  • Good investigative and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail

 

Education and/or Experience          

  • Minimum Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering (Electrical & Electronic) or equivalent and with 2 years working experience in QA related fields.
  • Decision making ability coupled with the ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHA regulations
  • Knowledge in 8D principles, SPC, FMEA, POKA YOKE, 6 sigma and other management system are advantages

                       

Language Skills                   

  • Excellent verbal and written skill in English and Malay. Mandarin will be a plus

 

Computer Skills     

  • May be required to use a computer to input records, apply statistical quality control procedures, or other similar procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
  • Minitab software

Work Environment

  • Employee works primarily in a manufacturing environment, within a well-ventilated area, and is exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • Other physical requirements as needed for job.

  • Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
  • A willingness to work flexibly
  • Able to travel on not a normal part of working day unless supplier audit
