As our PLANNING COORDINATOR you’ll support HID’s success by:
Summary
The Planning Coordinator is responsible for supporting production planning and scheduling activities to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently while meeting shipment demand and managing backlog effectively. This role coordinates closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Planner, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Customer Service to align resources, materials, and priorities. The position plays a key role in monitoring schedules, identifying risks, and driving timely execution of production plans to support on-time delivery performance. The team operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that values collaboration, communication, responsiveness, and strong ownership.
Key Responsibilities :
Planning & Operations Coordination
- Develop and maintain production plans and schedules to meet shipment demand and manage backlog effectively.
- Coordinate closely with internal departments to ensure planning requirements and material readiness are met.
- Monitor daily production output & WIP against plan and proactively adjust schedules to address gaps or constraints.
- Monitor production timelines and track progress against schedule commitments.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Track and support key performance indicators (KPIs) such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), backlog, scrap and schedule adherence.
- Identify planning gaps, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies; escalate and support corrective actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, reduce delays, and improve workflow efficiency.
- Support data analysis and reporting to drive better planning decisions and operational performance.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Coordinate cross-functional activities with Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Customer Service to resolve material shortages, capacity constraints, and delivery risks.
- Align priorities across departments to ensure smooth execution of production plans and fulfillment of shipment commitments.
- Identify potential delays or issues and communicate or escalate to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Maintain clear and timely communication on schedule changes, risks, and recovery plans to relevant stakeholders.
- Support effective communication between teams to enable timely issue resolution and decision-making while fostering a collaborative and responsive working environment.
Planning & Reporting
- Maintain accurate planning data, system updates, and documentation to ensure visibility and traceability.
- Support preparation of planning reports including backlog status, delivery performance, and production readiness.
- Supports reporting and analysis of planning performance, including delays, output, and adherence to schedule.
- Assist in demand and capacity reviews to ensure alignment with business and customer requirements.
Compliance & Process Adherence
- Ensure all planning activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
- Support adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in planning activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the superior or management to support business needs.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations coordination.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems for planning and tracking is required; familiarity with SAP, Oracle, or similar systems is preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of supply chain planning concepts and inventory management is an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality
Skills & Competencies :
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written; ability to communicate in the Bahasa Melayu is required.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Results-oriented with the ability to remain resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and respond effectively under pressure.
- Proactive mindset with strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Windows OS.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and ability to learn internal systems quickly.
Customer Expectations
- Proactively manage stakeholder expectations through effective planning, communication, and follow-up.
- Proactively manage customer expectations, ensuring timely order fulfillment and consistent communication.

- Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required. Therefore, employee must possess, or be able to acquire a valid passport.
