As our Payroll Specialist, India & APAC, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

Summary

The India Payroll Specialist will sit within APAC Payroll Shared Services and support accurate, compliant, and timely India & APAC payroll delivery. The role will mainly help Payroll Lead in India transition payroll from ADP to an in-house BIPO model and support payroll processing, statutory compliance, payroll accounting, and employee payroll queries. And also sometimes will be the back up to support rest of APAC countries.

This role requires strong India payroll knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work with HR, Finance, vendors, authorities, and employees in a multinational shared services environment.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Payroll Operations 

• Support accurate, compliant, and timely end-to-end India payroll operations. 
• Validate payroll inputs such as hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, incentives, and employee updates.
• Perform payroll calculations, reconciliations, validations, and audit checks before finalization.
• Support payroll approvals, salary disbursements, statutory payments, and Full & Final settlements. 
• Support employee payroll queries, including escalations, with timely resolution and documentation.
• Maintain payroll records, supporting documentation, and audit trails.

Payroll Transformation & Implementation 

• Support the ADP to BIPO transition, including testing, data validation, parallel runs, UAT, and post-go-live support.
• Assist with payroll procedures, process documentation, controls, and user guides.
• Support process improvement, automation, and standardization.
• Participate in payroll implementation and transformation projects as required.

Your Experience and Background include:  

Education and Experience 

• Fluent English communication skills, written and verbal, are essential.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, HR, Business Administration, or related field. 

• Minimum 3-5 years' hands-on India payroll experience. 

• Strong knowledge of India payroll legislation, taxation, labour laws, and statutory compliance requirements. 

• Experience working with outsourced payroll providers, preferably ADP. 

• Experience supporting payroll implementation, migration, or in-house payroll build projects is advantageous.

• Multinational or shared services payroll experience is preferred, with opportunity to build broader international payroll exposure.

• Exposure to payroll accounting, reconciliations, and month-end payroll processes is desirable.

Technical Skills

• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, reconciliations, and payroll data analysis. 

• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, BIPO, or similar payroll platforms. 

• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
