As our PIE ENGINEER you’ll support HID’s success by:
Summary
The PIE Engineer is responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI) & Continuous Product Improvement (CPI). PIE Engineer mainly in charge of transferring NPI by setting up the BOM, Product Specification, Manufacturing drawing & templates. NPI Engineer is also in charge of the sample manufacturing and program management of the Local SPO.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following
- Owner of New Product Introduction (NPI) from start to end for SPO & sustaining project.
- Support for NPI of new project for MBP & CPO (owned by Product Design Engineering) & work with other Manufacturing Engineering Team (Process & Automation) during the transfer
- Initiate activities (Project Management) to ensure project progress on schedule and actively pursue practices that lead to project completion on time.
- Review initial drawing & specification and highlight any concerns or missing information @ early project request. Involve other team members if necessary to avoid any conflict during mass production.
- Coordinate for feasibility samples builds (internal/external)
- Product / Samples qualification report compilation and ensuring the FA (First Article) samples are ready and delivered to customers on time.
- Ensure that process evaluation is appropriately and effectively carried out and that the required data is available for analysis before mass production.
- Set up BOM & routing, manufacturing details drawing in a very fast-paced working environment.
- Work with cross-functional teams (process/automation/quality/maintenance / IE) to optimize process solutions and ensure the product design requirements are achieved and sustained.
- Carried out OP process with FA submission and assessment.
- On-time Project Management in Agile is carried out until completion.
- Use JIRA as one of a communication tools
- Ensure PILOT LRVT for a new product launch with corrected yield and lifecycle change to Production within 5 weeks once LRVT Pass & fulfil the release requirement
- Ensure all document releases in the system (manufacturing documentation & fabrication template) are up to date per manufacturing running release.
- Quarterly review and clean up BOMs (alternate/inactive BOMs) for all product release if necessary
- Carry out any duties as assigned by the superior.
- Comply with all environmental control procedures
- Ensure all activities are performed in a manner that does not create unnecessary environmental impacts.
- Report or feedback environmental incidences or improvements needed.
- Other duties may be assigned by the manager if required
Qualifications
- Auto CAD (minimum 2007 version) – read & drawn.
- Basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator (creating new & made amendments) is advantageous.
- Knowledge in RFID Field is advantageous.
- Able to use Ms. Project / Gant Chart for project monitoring.
- Oracle & Agile user.
- Must have a good attitude & enthusiasm for Product Engineering
- Basic understanding of production/manufacturing equipment and processes.
Education and/or Experience
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Manufacturing Engineering)
- or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical / Manufacturing Engineering) with minimum 2-3 years of working experience as a product engineer.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001: 2015, and OSHA regulations
Language Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Auto CAD
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
- Able to use Minitab Program is an advantage
