Engineer II, Software
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work with Design Engineering and Operations Solutions teams to develop on- chip programming profiles for RFID credentials products (cards, tags) leveraging generic platform
- Participate to the full design and development cycles
- Unit testing, and ensuring the quality of design and coding
- Draw up functional specifications of profiles
- Support the development of software tools for hardware products (credentials, readers, controllers, etc.)
- Provide support to manufacturing team during the deployment of industrial profiles
- Interact with local IT team to setup proper infrastructure
- Comply with department overarching architecture and processes guidelines
- Keep tight deadlines for software enhancements to match product development schedules
- Actively support in special engineering tasks like group’s global engineering activities
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering required
- Ability to handle priorities well and stay organized in a dynamic environment
- Must have working experience with the following: strong C# background (3 years minimum), .Net, ASP.NET, HTML, JSON, XML, etc.
- Microsoft Visual Studio, git/bitbucket, Jira/Confluence
- Must demonstrate analytical, critical thinking
- Expertise in applied cryptography and key management is greatly appreciated
- Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM is an asset appreciated
- Knowledge of communication interfaces over JTAG, SWD, UART, SPI, I2C is greatly appreciated
- Knowledge of RFID industry standards such as ISO7816, ISO14443, ISO15693 is greatly appreciated
- Interest in applications like IoT, secure access control, identification and authentication.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Flexibility, autonomy and ability to prioritize, plan and organize
Strong problem-solving skills, high self-motivation with close attention to details
Language Skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English.

- Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems
- Travel and fieldwork including international travel, therefore employee must possess or can acquire a valid passport.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Malaysia.
