HID Global is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to support day-to-day shipment execution across the Americas region. This is an entry-level, developmental role designed for early-career professionals interested in building a foundation in transportation and supply chain management.
Reporting to the Sr. Transportation Manager, the Transportation Coordinator will manage daily freight activities while gaining exposure to carrier management, cost analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. HID Global’s transportation network includes parcel, air, ocean, and ground freight.

As our Transportation Coordinator, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.
- Scheduling pickups and managing shipment bookings across parcel, air, ocean, and ground modes.
- Tracking and tracing shipments, proactively managing exceptions, and resolving shipping errors.
- Responding to inquiries related to freight movements, including cost, transit time, performance, and claims.
- Initiating and managing freight claims with carriers and logistics service providers.
- Providing freight cost quotes and estimates for routine shipment requests.
- Supporting transportation optimization, cost-reduction, and network improvement initiatives through data preparation and analysis.
- Reviewing freight bills and invoices for accuracy; identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Compiling and maintaining monthly transportation cost and performance metrics (e.g., freight spend, on-time delivery, claims, etc.).
- Maintaining transportation-related data in ERP, OAC, TMS, carrier, or other portals.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
- Following standard operating procedures and assisting with documentation updates as processes evolve.
Your Experience and Background include:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage assigned tasks independently with guidance and mentorship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel; comfort working with data and reports.
- 0–2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or freight forwarding is preferred.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred is preferred.
- Exposure to ERP or transportation management systems (Oracle experience a plus) is preferred.
- Interest in transportation analytics and continuous improvement is preferred.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus but not required is preferred.
