The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely handling of all shipments and inventory within the warehouse. This includes pulling, packing, shipping products and supplies, coordinating transport, maintaining records, and receiving inventory and RMAs. The position requires adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and company policies to meet both internal and external customer needs.

As our Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you’ll support HID’s success by: 
- Shipping all goods within 48 hours of receipt or as specified by the pick ticket date.
- Accurately pulling, verifying, and delivering parts for orders and technical support requests.
- Packing goods in boxes or pallets after verification by teammates or the Logistics Coordinator.
- Customs & compliance – Handling export/import documentation, customs declarations, and trade compliance (especially since international shipping is mentioned).
- Coordinating shipping through carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, Old Dominion) based on the pick ticket or Shipping Bible.
- Collaborating with customer service for necessary international shipping documentation.
- Receiving and processing incoming inventory, supplies, and RMAs according to the receiving procedure.
- Unloading containers, air shipments, and LTL freight deliveries, and stock shelves appropriately.
- Damage reporting – Inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies and documenting claims with vendors/carriers.
- Placing orders for free supplies from courier websites and reporting shortages to the Logistics Coordinator and Operations Manager.
- Communicating inventory discrepancies, including part and lot numbers, to the Logistics Coordinator and Operations Manager.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety policies.
- Conducting cycle counts and assisting with annual physical inventory counts. Investigating and resolving discrepancies found during cycle counts or physical inventory.
- Continuous improvement – Suggesting workflow, layout, or packaging improvements to reduce errors and costs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Experience and Background include:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Preferred 2 years of relevant shipping and receiving experience or related training.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
- Ability to work in a team structure.
- Ability to communicate verbally and written with people inside and outside an organization.
- Ability to meet shipping cutoffs and tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills. Ability to resolve discrepancies with minimal supervision.

- Safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment (OSHA certification).
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, DOT, IATA, or IMDG familiarity for hazardous or international freight.
