As a Senior Technical Consultant within HID’s Credential Management segment, you will serve a dual role supporting both Pre-Sales and Professional Services functions, with a focus on the U.S. Public Sector. You will act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and partners, driving strategic engagements and delivering secure, scalable identity and credential management solutions. In Pre-Sales, you will provide expert guidance to sales teams, shape deal strategies, and represent HID through product demonstrations, tender responses, and industry events. In Professional Services, you will lead complex implementations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery tailored to customer requirements.

As our Senior Technical Consultant, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Collaborating with sales to position and demonstrate HID Global solutions that meet customer needs, facilitating evaluations and tailored demos, providing ongoing technical support, acting as a trusted Technical Account Manager, and building long-term relationships with key accounts and partners, and document opportunities in Salesforce for accurate tracking.
- Working closely with channel partners to align strategies and drive success; supporting solution marketing through the development of datasheets, whitepapers, and case studies; contributing to digital outreach efforts; and delivering advanced technical training and educational resources via HID Academy to empower internal teams and partners.
- Leading customer workshops and meetings as a subject matter expert; designing, implementing, testing, and documenting HID Global solutions; producing and reviewing technical documentation including requirements and solution design; supporting partner API integration inquiries; and resolving technical issues under pressure to ensure successful project delivery.
- Acting as a trusted advisor and product expert in Identity and Access Management, guiding partners through HID product integration, addressing procurement-related technical concerns, sharing insights from industry trends and standards to drive innovation, facilitating product samples for testing, and leading technical discussions to ensure alignment on requirements and capabilities.
- Engaging with global teams to provide field insights that influence product development, representing HID Global at industry events to showcase solutions, drive initiatives that enhance Sales Engineering efficiency, and leading the execution of RFPs, RFIs, and technical questionnaires with precision.
- Creating and maintaining product documentation, videos, and knowledge-based articles; aligning with Product Owners on customer needs and market trends; and driving continuous innovation by staying current with developments in information security and Identity and Access Management.
Your Experience and Background include:
- Technical degree (BS Computer Science, Engineering or related field). Candidates with equivalent education plus relevant work experience may also be considered.
- CISSP and Industry Standard IT/Security Industry Certifications are a plus.
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience within Professional Services, Technical Pre-sales or similar. Experience within the Identity Management services is advantageous.
- Proficient in Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Skilled in at least one programming language: Java, Python, C, Perl, JavaScript, or Node.js.
- Expereince in one or more identity and credential technologies: PKI, MFA, OAuth, OATH, OpenID, GlobalPlatform/OpenPlatform, Java Card.
- Strong understanding of system and network components, including web applications, network protocols (SSL/TLS, VPN, IPSec, RDP), PACS, proxy servers, and load balancers.
- Deep knowledge of authentication and directory services: SAML, RADIUS, LDAP, Microsoft AD, Entra ID, AWS, and related solutions.
- Experience with application servers (IIS, Tomcat, WebSphere, JBoss, WebLogic) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with database systems: MS SQL Server, Oracle, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL.
- In-depth understanding of U.S. Government security standards and compliance frameworks: FIPS 201, NIST SP 800-73, FIPS 140, GSC-IS v2.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with identity management, including authentication, digital signing, access control, data protection, and securing digital credentials (e.g., smart cards, mobile devices, security keys).
- Proficiency in authentication mechanisms, cryptography, network security.

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At HID, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
The base salary in the United States is $157,000 to $174,000. The OTE is up to $218,000.
