HID’s Legal and Corporate Affairs Department

The Labor and Employment position is a part of our Legal and Corporate affairs department and will report into the General Counsel for HID Global. This role will provide leadership and execution advancing our Labor and Employment program both domestically and internationally, including North America, South America, Asia and Europe. This role will interact across all levels of the organization including the HID Global executive team.

 

As our Senior General Counsel, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

 

  • Counseling and being a trusted advisor to Human Resources (HR) department, especially with complex or higher risk labor and employee issues and employment risk avoidance and mitigation.
  • Providing legal advice on employment agreement templates or complex provisions.
  • Structuring management of and overseeing employment and labor matters for HID affiliates globally.
  • Handling of organized labor related matters, including work councils.
  • Partnering with and training Human Resources, as needed, on internal investigations involving labor and employment laws and policies.
  • Counseling company and Human Resources on changing employee compliance matters such as non-competition agreements, and IP ownership.
  • Providing guidance on legal aspects of employee benefits, compensation, use of independent contractors, and employment policies.
  • Reviewing employee handbook, policies, and work practices to minimize legal or regulatory risk.
  • Providing internal direct training and train-the-trainer programs on workplace related policies and laws.
  • Advising on remote working situations with Labor and Employment impact globally.
  • Selecting and overseeing of outside labor and employment counsel globally.
  • Reviewing and assisting Human Resources department with anti-harassment and anti-discrimination guidelines and compliance.
  • Assisting Human Resources with employee immigration concerns.

  • Experience in handling governmental inquiries and claims relating to labor and employment matters.
  • Exposure to company boards of directors and high-level executives.
  • Ability in assessing analytics and presenting data on law department and company labor and employment practices.

 

Your Experience and Education include:

             

  • Law Degree
  • Minimum 7 years of in-house experience in a global organization preferred. 
  • Experience with international employment laws and regulations highly desired.
