HID’s Finance & Accounting Department: 

The Finance & Accounting department partners with business leaders across the company and drives impact through a grounding in hard data, an independent point of view, business partnership, a collaborative approach, and a focus on the development of our people. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the proper accounting is performed and controls are in place for assigned acquisitions by preparing journal entries, reconciliations and reviewing transactions. Successful candidates for this role will perform research, data analysis, financial statement validation and participate in month end close activities. 

As our Senior Accountant, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Implementing and ensuring procedures and internal controls of acquisitions are in compliance with Assa Abloy Accounting and Reporting policy.
  • Ensuring the integrity of financial information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
  • Preparing journal entries.
  • Preparing and maintaining account reconciliations in accordance with policy. Alerting management of any significant issues identified and recommend solutions.
  • Researching “month on month” and “year on year” variances and determining drivers of unusual changes.
  • Performing timely month end, quarter end and year end closing activities; responsible for 2- day closing including accuracy of data reported, review of income statements and balance sheet, update of workspaces and validation of data in financial reporting system.
  • Working with team members to address various accounting issues as needed and required.
  • Understanding the internal legacy computer systems (QuickBooks Hyperion Financial Management, and Oracle Analytics Cloud); in order to retrieve historical data (including downloads of data into Excel or other applications).
  • Participating in integration of acquisitions into Shared Services and Oracle financial system.
  • Assisting operational team with tasks as needed.
  • Coordinating with financial planning team.

Your Experience and Education include:             

  • BS in Accounting or related field.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 4-7 years of experience in similar role.
  • Familiarity with IFRS – International Financial Reporting Standard. 
  • QuickBooks experience.
  • Comfortable with advanced ERP system such as Oracle.
