HID Global is seeking a Lamination Manufacturing Engineer to be an integral member of the Manufacturing Engineering Team. The Lamination Manufacturing Engineer is primarily responsible for performance of products and equipment, as well as new product introduction efforts with a focus on production processes for lamination, production verification testing and functional testing, as well as documenting processes and developing detailed work instructions.

As our Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

 

  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements in support of work center production processes and yield improvements
  • Troubleshooting product functionality as related to tooling and/ or process related issues.
  • Characterizing equipment functionality to improve production/efficiency
  • Coordinating production line set-up and the development of maintenance and calibration procedures
  • Supporting Value Analysis/Value Engineering projects and workshops
  • Implementing engineering changes to production parts or processes
  • Implementing lean mfg. and continuous improvement techniques
  • Preparing reports - collecting, analyzing process test and capability data (yields, cycle times, trends, etc.)
  • Setting up production test and functional test in production
  • Completing production relevant documentation such as e.g. work instructions, process flow charts, etc.
  • Optimizing setup of printing equipment through DOE and other analytical methods.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and work instruction creation in addition to calibration and maintenance procedures.

 

Your Experience and Education include:             

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 2-7 years of Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience with printing equipment usage and capabilities a plus
  • Experience with design of assembly tools and fixtures
  • Experience in implementing and analyzing Statistical Process Controls
  • Knowledgeable in product testing and measurement methods/tools
  • Mechanical aptitude with an emphasis on the ability to troubleshoot prototype designs
  • Experience with Quality processes/tools (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma) preferred, but not required
