The Machine Operator Level 3 is a senior, highly skilled operator responsible for advanced setup, operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of complex manufacturing equipment. The MO3 serves as a technical subject‑matter expert, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to other operators. This role demonstrates increased accountability for product quality, process stability, and equipment performance, while supporting continuous improvement and ensuring operational excellence in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

As our Machine Operator, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Lifting up to 15 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Collating materials per BOM and identifying BOM errors.
- Following oral and written directions.
- Following and advocating safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Identifying and escalating potential issues to minimize safety, quality, delivery issues, and/or operational inefficiencies while offering solutions.
- Identifying process trends, recurring defects, or inefficiencies and initiating corrective actions within standard escalation guidelines.
- Independently diagnosing and resolving non-routine process, equipment, and quality issues.
- Maintaining a high level of attendance.
- Maintaining compliance with all safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Performing advanced setup, operation, adjustment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex manufacturing equipment.
- Serving as a technical resource for Machine Operators, Levels 1 and 2.
- Verifying BOMs, materials, programs, artwork, and specifications with advanced judgment and attention to detail.
- Mentoring and instructing selected coworkers in the proper techniques, procedures, and quality checks associated with each machine.
- Possessing the ability to work at a fast pace with extremely close attention to detail.
- Understanding and adhering to basic work instructions and procedures.
- Identifying obstacles or inefficiencies that reduce production capabilities.
- Model best‑in‑class safety, quality, and procedural compliance behaviors.
- Operate across multiple machines, processes, or product lines with minimal supervision.
- Participate in root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support implementation and validation of new equipment, processes, or product changes.
- Train, mentor, and coach lower‑level operators to ensure competency and consistency.
Your Experience and Background include:

- Cultivate a coworker’s understanding and production in various areas.
- Demonstrates experience operating and setting up various machinery.
- Effectively train and mentor other operators.
- Foster positive correction in coworkers when needed.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience, including demonstrated MO2‑level performance.
- Must have flexibility to work overtime as required (including weekends).
- Obtain and maintain SF‑85P Federal Clearance.
- Prioritize multiple tasks while being organized.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot beyond standard work instructions.
- Willingness and ability to learn new concepts and techniques.
- Work independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaption to changing manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership influence without direct supervisory authority is preferred.
- Experience in training employees or supporting team leadership activities is preferred.
- Experience supporting process improvements or new equipment launches is preferred.
- Experience working in a cleanroom or regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and Windows operating systems is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities is preferred.
