HID’s Operations Solutions Department

The Operations Solutions team delivers software solutions used throughout the manufacturing organization targeting the industrialization and production
management of HID products. Those solutions are deployed across the globe, at HID sites and also at suppliers and contract manufacturer production sites. Those solutions cover all HID Global product lines (credentials, tags, readers, controllers, panels, tokens, printers, etc.) and various aspects of the production processes such as provisioning, labeling, packaging, reporting, lifecycle & traceability management.



As our OS Software Development Intern, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Implement the industrialization of hardware products (Smart Readers & controllers, etc.)
  • Implement the industrialization of credential profiles
  • Agile (SCRUM and SAFe) SDLC
  • Shop floor process analysis, Solution design, implementation, documentation, and testing
  • Machine Solution integration and deployment
  • Sustaining Activities
  • Level 2 & 3 Support
  • Work with engineering and technical support to pro-actively implement simple components of the industrial solutions, leveraging generic platforms
  • Participate in the development/validation/documentation cycles
  • Help identify solutions contributing to overall manufacturing process improvements, tracking and eliminating waste (energy, time, paper
  • consumption ...)
  • Maintain security standards for the site and products
  • Interact with local IT teams
  • Embrace the department's overarching architecture and processes guidelines
  • Provide level 1 & 2 support to local manufacturing teams



What we will love about your background: 

  • You are motivated to learn and stay organized in a dynamic environment
  • Must have knowledge of the following:
  • Java, C# or Python background,
  • Some understanding with
  • Spring, .Net, .NetCore, HTML, JSON, XML, ...
  • IDEs and development-related tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, VS Code, git/bitbucket
  • You are analytical, a critical thinker, and a problem-solver
  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to work onsite in Austin, TX. 



Your Experience and Education include:
