The Director of Quality will be responsible for all areas of quality functions and will lead a team of quality personnel who will work closely with internal and external stakeholders including Operations, Engineering, Contract Manufacturers, Sales, Customer Service and Tech Support.

As our Director of Quality, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Managing the Product Quality team resources and talent development to ensure the necessary product and process knowledge are established and developed.
  • Developing, implementing, and managing quality investigation processes to ensure product and product quality issues are consistently captured, tracked, investigated, addressed and documented.
  • Measuring both DPPM (process) and PSQ (product) performance and lead corrective actions
  • Leading and managing the quality function from new product conception through to warranty analysis to ensure a proactive culture so that customers receive the product to the highest standard of quality possible.
  • Looking for quality improvements within the full product lifecycle – from design to manufacturing process as well as working with the Sales team to develop order standards. Working closely with the Aftermarket teams on customer feedback and warranty issues
  • Completing any special projects as required. May be assigned to other areas of operations & engineering based on business or customer requirements.
  • Working closely with Contract Manufacturers and central functions to ensure incidents and trending issues are fully investigated, documented with corrective actions.
  • Actively leading the reduction of customer complaints, warranty, cost of quality and in-house scrap and waste
  • Supporting and participating in design-oriented quality management forums. Emphasizing the importance of Test Driven Development concepts to ensure products meet customer expectations of functional performance.
  • Supporting and participating in product quality management forums. Emphasizing the importance of robust and timely action plans focused on containment, root cause and corrective / preventive actions.

 

Your Experience and Background include:  

  • 5+ years of Quality Management experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent scientific/technical discipline.
  • System-based thinking and excellent analytical skills are required.
  • Expert using quality tools such as FMEA, SIPOC, CAPA, 5 Why’s, 8D, RCCA, TQM.
  • Expert knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
  • Experience with working in a Test-Driven Development environment.
  • Must possess an innate sense of collaboration and interpersonal abilities.
  • Comfortable and effective communicating complex problems to groups large or small, comprised of subordinates, peers and / or Senior Leadership alike.
  • Resolves conflicts and disputes by addressing multiple viewpoints to develop a mutually satisfying outcome.
  • Experience working with product and software quality preferred
