Business Development Representative

Business Development Representative

End User  ·  Mid-Market  ·  SiteOwl

We're looking for a driven, curious, and commercially minded Business Development Representative to join our growing GTM team. SiteOwl already works with mid-market end users — security directors and enterprise operations leaders who buy and operate physical security systems directly — and we're now investing in dedicated BD capacity to accelerate that segment. This role is focused on building and owning that pipeline.

This isn't a role where you'll inherit a warm list or follow a rigid script. You'll be working a real segment with real customers, which means real ownership, real visibility, and a clear path to becoming the AE who closes what you've built.

About SiteOwl

SiteOwl is revolutionizing the way organizations manage their physical security infrastructure with an intuitive, cloud-based lifecycle management platform. We're a fast-growing company — backed by ASSA ABLOY, the world's largest access solutions provider — on a mission to give security teams the visibility and control they've never had. If you thrive in dynamic environments and want to build something that matters, we want you on our team.

What You'll Do

  • Own outbound prospecting into mid-market end user accounts — physical security directors and enterprise operations teams that purchase security solutions directly rather than through an integrator
  • Build and maintain a named account target list, researching prospects and developing personalized outreach strategies for each
  • Qualify inbound leads and web inquiries from the end user segment, ensuring a fast and thoughtful response
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospect needs, identify fit with SiteOwl's platform, and pass qualified opportunities to the sales team
  • Re-engage prior end user opportunities that went dark, applying fresh context and persistence
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Zoho CRM — every touch, every note, every next step
  • Collaborate closely with the GTM team to refine messaging, share front-line insights, and improve the end-user motion over time
  • Shadow the full sales cycle to accelerate your development and prepare for a full-cycle AE role

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years in a business development or outbound sales role, with demonstrated ability to generate pipeline independently
  • A self-starter mindset — you don't wait to be handed a list; you figure out who to call and why
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust quickly over the phone and in writing
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, early-stage environment with limited process and high ambiguity
  • Proficiency with CRM tools; Zoho experience a plus
  • The ability to leverage AI tools and modern prospecting technology to maximize efficiency
  • Positive, resilient, high energy, and a genuine drive to win
  • Coachable, with a continuous improvement mindset and high degree of intellectual curiosity
  • Strong organizational skills and the discipline to log activity consistently

Desirable (Not Required)

  • Experience selling into physical security or enterprise operations buyers
  • Familiarity with the security integrator ecosystem or physical security technology
  • Experience in a full-cycle sales role
  • Background in SaaS or technology sales

Why Join SiteOwl

  • Dedicated ownership: You'll be the first person fully dedicated to end user BD at SiteOwl — with an existing customer base to learn from and a segment ready to scale.
  • A clear path to AE: This role is designed to develop into a full-cycle mid-market AE position within 12–18 months. The pipeline you build becomes the book you close.
  • ASSA ABLOY backing: SiteOwl is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in access solutions — giving you enterprise resources with startup energy.
  • Real impact: You'll play a direct role in accelerating how SiteOwl grows the end user segment. Your work will be visible, valued, and consequential.
  • Collaborative team: Join a small, high-trust team of professionals who take the work seriously and support each other's growth.

This position will be performed remotely Monday through Friday from a home office environment at Phoenix, AZ or Austin, TX.
