As a Business Development Leader - Controller Applications, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, closing, and managing new technology partner application opportunities.  This is an instrumental role in growing the Mercury MP controller platform through 3rd party technology partner expansion. You will work with product marketing and technical teams to qualify and evaluate new opportunities, ensuring strategic fit with the brand and business philosophy of both the HID and Mercury product families. The successful individual will own the technology partner ecosystem and manage it according to the overall business strategy and execution. Additionally, you will drive marketing initiatives both internally and externally through the partner community and build and maintain senior-level relationships within partner organizations to drive strategic alignment, advocacy, and measurable outcomes.

As our Business Development Leader, Controller Apps, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Planning, organizing and executing successful business development plan targeted towards growing the Mercury Technology Partner ecosystem.
  • Identifying, developing, closing, and managing new technology partner app opportunities.
  • Working with product marketing and technical teams to qualify and evaluate new opportunities.
  • Ensuring strategic fit of technology with the brand and business philosophy of both the HID and Mercury product families.
  • Owning the technology partner ecosystem and manage it according to overall business strategy and execution.
  • Driving marketing initiatives both internally and externally through the partner community.
  • Building and maintaining senior-level relationships within partner organizations to drive strategic alignment, advocacy, and measurable outcomes.
  • Providing regular updates on business development activities, progress, and outcomes to senior management.
  • Collaborating with HID management and legal to negotiate and facilitate contractual arrangements with the accounts.

 

Your Experience and Background include:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or business-related field.
  • Candidates with equivalent education plus relevant industry experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the access control and/or security marketplace.
  • Experience in international sales is a plus.
  • Strong security industry knowledge including key manufacturers, products and solutions, integrators, and channel structures.  
  • Proven skills in complex technical sales of security products with manufacturers and/or technology partners.
  • Ability to travel worldwide as required to effectively manage job responsibilities.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of HID’s product portfolio including controllers, readers, credentials and mobile access a plus.
  • Proven record of building an ecosystem of technology partners.
  • Partner-first philosophy that drives day-to-day activities.
  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and exceptional interpersonal skills with “C” suite.
  • Channel partner management experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude and able to convey and understand technical concepts.

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At HID, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

 

The base salary in the United States is $94,000 to $129,000. The OTE is up to $215,000.
