Responsible for assembling, testing, and completing ID card printer systems and subassemblies in a production environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow standardized work instructions, and a focus on quality and throughput. The Assembler II is expected to work independently on assigned builds, perform basic troubleshooting, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

As our Assembler III, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Performing electro-mechanical assembly of ID card printers and subassemblies following detailed work instructions, bills of material (BOM), and production travelers.
- Assembling mechanical and electrical components including frames, harnesses, motors, print mechanisms, and related hardware using standard hand and power tools.
- Completing product builds with a high level of accuracy, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and configuration per specifications.
- Executing functional testing and basic troubleshooting to validate product performance and identify defects or build issues.
- Recording production data accurately, including build status, test results, and quality checks.
- Identifying and escalating quality or material issues to support first-pass yield and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workstation in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
- Collaborating with team members, leads, and support functions (quality, engineering, materials) to meet daily production targets.
- Supporting rework, repair, and process improvement activities as needed.
- Following work instructions and production travelers.
- Utilizing BOMs and configuration-driven assembly processes.
- Operating basic testing equipment.
- Demonstrating strong attention to detail and quality.
- Working comfortably with repetitive builds and product variation.
Your Experience and Background include:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-2 years of electro-mechanical assembly experience preferred
- Experience in high-mix / low to medium volume assembly environments preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, specifications, international technical standards, blueprints, written instructions, etc.
