What would you do as our Welder II?
As a Welder II, you will perform intermediate to advanced MIG welding on door and frame assemblies, including 3-sided frame welding and basic elevation welds, ensuring work is completed accurately, safely, and in a timely manner. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, fabrication standards, and blueprint interpretation to produce high-quality products with minimal supervision.
In this position, you will play an important role in supporting production goals, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
You would also:
- Perform MIG welding on door and frame components, including 3-sided frames and elevation welds, ensuring consistent weld quality.
- Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols to understand job requirements and specifications.
- Prepare materials and components by grinding, cleaning, and fitting parts prior to welding.
- Grind, sand, and finish welded components to ensure proper fit, finish, and paint readiness.
- Inspect welds during and after production to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
- Identify and correct common weld defects such as porosity, undercutting, and incomplete fusion.
- Operate fabrication equipment including MIG welders, grinders, buffers, shears, OBI punches, and saws.
- Assist in training and mentoring Welder I team members, helping develop proper welding techniques and safety practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation while ensuring welding tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to support production targets, reduce rework, and improve workflow efficiency.
The Skills and Experience you need:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
- Ability to read manufacturing or shop drawings and weld symbols.
- Basic fabrication and layout skills including measuring and material preparation.
- Experience operating welding and fabrication equipment such as grinders and buffers.
- Ability to identify common weld defects and perform corrective actions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a production environment.
Pay rate: $ 24.60 per hour
