About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role is critical in ensuring our factory operates efficiently and meets production targets. You will be responsible for identifying improvements, conducting root cause analysis, performing both reactive and preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with administrative processes in our systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide both electrical and mechanical maintenance to machinery to ensure production continuity and safe operation.

  • Deliver preventative maintenance under the Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) program to reduce breakdown risks.

  • Accurately document work using our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Conduct root cause analysis and support problem solving on the shop floor.

  • Champion health and safety, raising observations with urgency and responsibility.

  • Support site services maintenance and contribute to improving environmental systems.

  • Action assigned SIO tasks and maintain all related documentation and reporting.

  • Uphold ISO 9001 compliance and contribute to ongoing improvement of company quality systems (SA documents, Job Breakdown Guides, internal audits).

  • Communicate effectively with other departments to support smooth operations.

  • Apply engineering and electrical principles and quality systems in a commercial mechanical engineering environment.

 

About You

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in manufacturing environments.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • NZ Electrical Service Technician licence
  • Level 4 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or significant hands-on experience in maintenance fitting

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar maintenance engineering role

  • General mechanical engineering skills

  • SolidWorks (or other CAD software) and design skills – advantageous but not essential

  • Experience with CMMS, root cause analysis, and LEAN Manufacturing

  • Strong computer literacy

  • Competency in English – both written and verbal
