About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role is critical in ensuring our factory operates efficiently and meets production targets. You will be responsible for identifying improvements, conducting root cause analysis, performing both reactive and preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with administrative processes in our systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain machinery across the business to ensure seamless production and safe operation.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance as part of the Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) program to minimize breakdown risks.
  • Document maintenance activities using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Perform root cause analysis to address shop floor issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Prioritize health and safety, ensuring all observations are raised with the appropriate urgency.
  • Support the maintenance of site services and drive improvements in environmental systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and maintain quality systems, including SA documents, Job Breakdown Guides, and internal audits.
  • Maintain and enhance company quality systems through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively across departments to optimize processes and production efficiency.
  • Apply industry-standard mechanical engineering principles in a commercial manufacturing environment.

 

About You

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in manufacturing environments.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Level 4 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance engineering role.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (or other CAD software) and mechanical design.
  • Strong mechanical engineering skills, including troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong computer skills, including CMMS and technical documentation.
  • Competency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
