About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to join our ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions New Zealand team. With a strategic focus on High Security Keying Solutions, this role will build strong relationships with professional end users such as local and central government agencies, councils, infrastructure providers, and security consultants. You will be responsible for growing awareness, market share, and sales of our product portfolio through consultative engagement and innovative sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to grow market share and sales with professional end users.
- Build and maintain key account relationships with local government, councils, infrastructure providers, educational facilities, and security consultants.
- Identify new business opportunities, prepare tailored proposals, and execute targeted sales strategies.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges.
- Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, product management, and operations to support sales initiatives.
- Attend and represent ASSA ABLOY at industry events to promote our solutions and gather market insights.
- Negotiate and manage commercial contracts with customers.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective measures when necessary.
About You
We are looking for a driven, customer-focused professional with a proven track record in business development and sales. You will bring a consultative approach to client engagement and demonstrate resilience, strategic thinking, and a strong ability to influence.
Key Requirements:
- 2+ years’ experience in business development or similar roles, ideally within a related industry.
- 5+ years’ experience in sales, marketing, or product-based roles.
- Experience selling technical product solutions is an advantage.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Skilled in relationship building, negotiation, and strategic account management.
- Highly organised, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
