Sunray Engineering Limited are a leading and specialist Manufacturer and Installer of Steel & Timber Security and Fire Doors, as well as associated products such as Louvre Panels, Solid Panels, Access Hatches and further enhanced products for Blast and Ballistic protection. These are supplied to a diverse range of specifiers across the UK and Worldwide to meet performance and product criteria. We now seek to enhance the skills within our Stores team. The role will focus on providing day-to-day machining and fabrication of sub-assembly components, alongwith the allocation of materials to the welding operatives to manufacture the products to meet the strict parameters of production deadlines.

 

What you would do as our Stores/Metal Prep Operative  

  • Complete the goods inwards inspection of materials and consult with the Stores Team Leader or Purchasing Manager with discrepancies whilst ensuring all materials/goods are receipted onto the internal computer system daily.
  • Ensure all components are safely put away in the correct location within the stores departments operated within the business.
  • Ensure the correct allocation of materials to each BOM allocated to the Production Operatives and correct quantities if required in a timely manner.
  • Prep and organise the kitting of forth coming jobs for the Production operatives, including the control and kitting of all security door furniture ensuring every kitted box is correct with materials required.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to complete the quarterly stock take within the department.
  • Work closely with the Stores Team Leader/Purchasing Manager in performing regular MRP and Job status reports, ensuring that all demands are recognised and dealt with accurately to always maintain stock levels.

The skills and experience you need to have.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Previous experience/knowledge in similar role using machinery such as Drilling/Saw/Milling/CNC would be an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability in organising materials within a store’s environment.
  • Proficient in using MS Excel, Epicor/Vantage would be an advantage.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Highly organised and can prioritise workloads effectively.
