HID Global is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer for the IDT RTLS team in Brno who is responsible for building, maintaining and improving HID’s web applications to ensure an uninterrupted, high-quality experience for our customers. This role requires strong analytical thinking, technical depth, and a passion for building robust, scalable software. As a full‑stack engineer, you will work across backend services, APIs, and modern frontend technologies, collaborating closely with QA engineers, customer-facing teams, and other stakeholders. As our Software Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

• Designing, implementing and delivering high-quality features for scalable full-stack web applications
• Writing clean, maintainable, and testable code that adheres to team standards and supports long‑term sustainability
• Applying established software engineering best practices, including agile methodologies, version control, peer reviews, continuous integration, and automated testing
• Participating in recurring team ceremonies, such as standups, planning sessions, and technical evaluations
• Developing and maintaining the domain knowledge required to work effectively within the platform and its components
• Communicating progress, status, and risks related to owned software components clearly and proactively to relevant stakeholders
• Providing deployment support within established processes, ensuring smooth delivery to production environments
• Resolving technical challenges through effective communication, conceptual problem‑solving, configuration adjustments, or code changes
• Supporting customer-facing teams by diagnosing and resolving issues related to production software
• Leveraging learnings from incidents to enhance backend services and prevent recurrence
• Maintaining existing software services, ensuring their stability, security, and long-term reliability
• Contributing to and maintaining internal knowledge bases, keeping documentation accurate and valuable for the team

Your Experience and Background include:  

• Minimum of 2 years of experience developing and maintaining backend software services
• High proficiency in any cloud-oriented backend language (Go, TypeScript, Java, Python etc.)
• High proficiency with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra etc.)
• High proficiency with distributed messaging systems (NATS, Kafka etc.)
• High proficiency with Git, CI/CD and writing clean, maintainable, traceable code
• Proficiency with API design and HTTP-based service communication
• Proficiency with frontend-focused technologies and languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS etc.)
• Willingness to use Go on daily basis
• Ability to effectively communicate in Czech and English, both verbally and in writing
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work, focusing on production‑blocking or high‑impact issues first
• High proficiency in Go
• High proficiency with containerization concepts (Kubernetes, Docker etc.)
• High proficiency with building and maintaining services in a microservice architecture
• Experience with public cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and large-scale cloud deployments
• Frontend development experience with modern technologies and frameworks (Node.js, React, Vue, Svelte etc.)
• Experience with both cloud and on‑prem software environments
