We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector to inspect and test HID products, assemblies, subassemblies, components, parts and cards for conformance to specifications in accordance with written inspection instructions, procedures or verbal instructions.

As our Quality Inspector, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

 

  • Performing incoming inspection on specified raw materials, sub-assemblies, finished parts and sub-contracted parts.
  • Performing in process inspections as required in accordance to the product SOP.
  • Performing outgoing inspection as required on finished products in accordance to site SOPs and AQL levels.
  • Raising SCARs as appropriate for non-conforming materials.
  • Raising internal MRB reports for non-conforming materials. 
  • Performing data collection tasks to support analytics.
  • Completing records and documentation for the inspections and measurements. Ensuring they are recorded on the correct forms, databases as required by SOP.
  • Communicating results and issues as they occur.
  • Monitoring measurement equipment for calibration and damage.
  • Being flexible to ensure demand peaks are managed.

  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical SOP’s, drawings, specifications as required.
  • Ability to communicate results and issues when they are detected.
  • Ability to discuss technical requirements with engineers and technicians.
  • Ability to use MS office including skills in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to access product specifications and technical data from the company-controlled documents.
  • Ability to use e-mail and on-line training.
  • Must understand the link in the measurements being taken and consequences of inaccurate data for customer.  
  • Understands the importance of customer quality and specifications.
  • Understands the importance of corrective action and problem solving to fix customer issues.
  • Reports any issues that potentially will impact customers.

 

 

Your Experience and Education include:    

 

  • Must have High School / secondary education or equivalent.
  • Has a basic qualification in quality / Lean.
  • Must have good understanding of measurement and use of use of inspection tools (micrometer, calipers etc..).
  • Has experience of the following skills: Calibration, Data collection and analysis, Corrective action, supplier scorecards.
  • 3–5 years’ previous experience in a similar role in another job/area.
