Position Summary

We are looking for a talented Mobile Product Designer with strong focus on mobile apps to work with our Global User Experience team on HID mobile offerings and design system.The candidate will report to our Global Manager, User Experience, immerse in a stimulating design thinking culture. You’ll partner with product owners, engineers and other designers to create truly innovative experiences, from ideation to design and hand-off to development. The ideal candidate is someone with a passion for innovation, who is able to take complex novel problems and turn them into delightful mobile experiences, and familiar with all phases of product design from ideation to development, including prototyping and UI design.

Physical Access Control Solutions (PACS)

HID's Physical Access Control Solutions Business Area:

HID PAC’s Business Unit focuses on the growth of new clients and existing clients where we leverage the latest card and reader technologies to solve the security challenges of our clients. Other areas of focus will include authentication, card sub systems, card encoding, Biometrics, location services and all other aspects of a physical access control infrastructure.   

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design simple and elegant experiences for our mobile apps

  • Guide the definition of user-centric product requirements

  • Create mobile wireframes, prototypes and mocks based on HID Design System

  • Contribute to the HID Design System with mobile experience patterns

  • Present design to peers, stakeholders and senior leadership

  • Actively participate in cross-functional team activities

  • Strong design portfolio focused on user centric mobile design

  • Highly skilled in Figma and other design tools.

  • Experience in designing iOS and Android app experiences from start to finish

  • Fluent in user experience best practices and trends

  • Knowledge of inclusivity and accessibility design principles

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, collaborating with stakeholders and team members across continents and time zones.

  • Ability to grasp disparate input from multiple sources and envision and convey an execution plan with timelines.

 

Desired good to have:

  • Experience contributing to design systems and pattern libraries.

  • Work within the SAFe Agile framework and attend scrum ceremonies.

  • Experience integrating user research feedback in their work.

  • General familiarity with React Native

Preferred Qualities:

  • BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc), Human-Computer Interactions (HCI) or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • 5 years of professional work experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in product designer role
